Paris, December 12, 2025. BCTG Avocats announces the appointments of Mathilde Paquelier as partner and Simon Dereix as counsel in its Labor Law department, and Alexandra Carpentier as counsel in the M&A/Private Equity department, effective January 1, 2026. These appointments are part of the firm’s growth strategy and confirm the momentum initiated in recent years, particularly around new sector practices.
Two years after joining BCTG Avocats as counsel, Mathilde Paquelier confirms her active role within the firm and contributes to the consolidation of the labor law department, led by Sabine de Paillerets.
Mathilde Paquelier works with a diverse client base comprising major French and/or foreign groups, subsidiaries of CAC 40 companies, mid-sized companies, and start-ups, on all aspects of labor law, both in an advisory capacity and in litigation. She assists them in the management of complex operations (acquisitions, restructurings, collective redundancies, collective status reform), as well as in their day-to-day individual and collective relations issues.
Her appointment as partner marks a strategic reinforcement for BCTG, adding her expertise to the support of transactional operations and projects managed by the firm’s teams. She also contributes to the development of cross-functional offerings in health and sports economics, sectors that are rapidly expanding within the firm.
“Mathilde’s appointment demonstrates the firm’s ability to support and promote its talent. Mathilde actively contributes to the dynamism of the labor law practice, particularly in the transactional area.
Having her as one of our partners is a real asset for our team, for the firm, and above all for our clients,” said Sabine de Paillerets, partner.
Simon Dereix, who has worked with Mathilde since they met at Bredin Prat seven years ago, has been promoted to counsel. He advises the firm’s clients, both in an advisory capacity and in litigation, on their day-to-day HR issues and on complex projects.
He also contributes to strengthening the practice, particularly through his involvement in the firm’s transactional projects.
The firm’s entire employment law practice now comprises three partners, one counsel, and eight associates.
At the same time, Alexandra Carpentier, an associate with the firm since 2020, has been appointed counsel in the M&A/Private Equity team. Alexandra works primarily on various aspects of corporate law in the context of mergers and acquisitions, reorganizations, and financing alongside Séverin Kullmann. She advises French and international groups, mid-sized companies, and SMEs, as well as investment funds in France and abroad.
Séverin Kullmann, partner in the M&A/Private Equity practice, explains: “Alexandra has demonstrated a high level of expertise and constant commitment to our clients and the team. This appointment recognizes her career and her contribution to the development of the M&A/Private Equity department.”
The M&A/Private Equity department now has 6 partners, 2 counsels, and 10 associates.
