Partner - Willy Mathot Avocat

Life Sciences

After starting his career in large international law firms, Willy Mathot joined the pharmaceutical industry as General Counsel of IPSEN laboratories, which have 30 subsidiaries worldwide. He accompanied the company in its strong international growth and carried out its IPO in 2005, during which he set up and developed a global compliance program and became Chief Compliance Officer.

These 22 years in business have enabled him to develop a strong operational and international legal expertise specific to the pharmaceutical industry. He joined the Paris Bar in 2013 to put this experience and skills at the service of biotech and medtech companies and start-ups.

After 10 years of practice in his own firm, Willy Mathot joined BCTG Avocats to offer his clients the benefit of the firm’s global platform of expertise in the main areas of business law, and to assist them in all their development and growth issues.

Willy Mathot advises its clients – biotech and medtech companies and start-ups – on the incorporation of their companies, the drafting of shareholder agreements, the preparation and execution of structured financing transactions, the drafting and negotiation of international partnership, consortium, licensing and manufacturing agreements, as well as on the legal issues that arise throughout the life of the company (employment law, intellectual property, RGPD…).

In addition, Willy Mathot created the “Life sciences leadership school” in 2016. This MBA-type course, organized over 40 days with 80 experts specializing in the sector, supports project leaders and other players in the life sciences ecosystem. BCTG Avocats’ lawyers will be involved in and enrich this cutting-edge training.
