In its 2021 edition, Legal 500 has referenced BCTG Avocats in six practice areas:

  • Energy –  tier 2

Legal 500’s review: “BCTG Avocats possesses high-level expertise in public law and environmental law, in particular with respect to obtaining and defending permits for renewable energy projects. Paul Elfassi and Nelsie Bergès (counsel) are experts on these aspects. Before the courts, they have defended several permits on which the fate of several of the country’s largest offshore wind projects depended. This public law expertise is complemented by a strong corporate law practice, embodied by Catherine Dupuy-Burin des Roziers, Diane Mouratoglou and Alain de Rougé, who work on medium-sized projects in the wind, solar, hydrogen and biomass sectors, as well as on corporate PPA projects in France. In addition, the firm is appointed to handle international assignments and treats corporate law transactions involving energy assets.”

  • Trademarks and designs –  tier 2

Legal 500’s review: “BCTG Avocats both provides advisory service and handles litigation matters. The team covers a broad range of industry sectors, including sporting goods sales, fashion, food, life sciences, pharmaceuticals and software publishing. Gaëlle Bloret-Pucci, who heads the team, also has expertise in unfair competition, passing off and marketing, which is of particular value to the practice’s clients who specialise in the sports and sales sectors. Of note: the firm is a member of the Alliance for Nike (the US multinational’s ad hoc network of law firms that cover the countries in the MENA region), as well as the global alliance of law firms that act on behalf of the G-STAR brand – which provides the team with frequent exposure to international matters.”

  • Environment – tier 2

In particular, the public law team handles these matters for several of the country’s largest offshore wind projects; it has already successfully defended numerous permits for these projects before the courts. The team also conducts audits of large infrastructure projects and transactions. Finally, it assists several clients in handling environmental law issues relating to industrial sites and is involved in a major case in the mining sector.
