
In this article, published in “Smart City Mag”, Catherine Dupuy Burin des Roziers, partner in the Energy department, and Carole Schertzinger explain the outlook for new energy communities in France in the wake of the Climate and Resilience government bill.
Under the impetus of the European Union, specifically (1) the Renewable Energy Directive II and (2) the Electricity Directive, the concepts of renewable energy communities and citizen energy communities have been introduced in order to open this sector to non-professional and small-scale actors, such as citizens, communities and small and medium-sized enterprises.
