BCTG Avocats assists EDF Hydro Développement (EDF Group) in the Forces Motrices Convert acquisition

The EDF Group, Europe’s leading producer of renewable energies as a result of its investment in numerous sectors (hydro, solar, wind, biomass, marine energies, geothermal, etc.) has directly and indirectly acquired 100% of the capital of Forces Motrices Convert, an entity that operates a 2.6 MW hydroelectric power plant located in the town of Neuville-sur-Ain.

This transaction, carried out by EDF Hydro Développement, a subsidiary of the EDF Group, contributes to the group’s goal of developing renewable energies.

The BCTG Avocats Corporate and M&A team that assisted EDF Hydro Développement in completing this transaction was composed of Alain de Rougé, a partner, and Olivia Woodroffe, an associate. The firm’s other teams, in particular the public law team (Nelsie Bergès, counsel), real estate law team (Diane Mouratoglou, partner) and employment law team (Sabine de Paillerets, partner), also participated in the due diligence phase.

The sellers were advised by the Ratheaux firm (Lyon), specifically Michel Bottazzi and Jean Joyet, and AHA Expertises et Conseils, an accounting firm, specifically Cédric Allouard.
